September Synopsis

September was a busy month to say the least. We had an exciting array of guest speakers at the club and held our largest fundraising event of the year. We started off the month with a visit from Congressman Glenn Grothmann. He provided a look into what is happening in Washington DC and answered many questions that club members had about some very important current issues. https://grothman.house.gov/

There was no meeting held the second week as we were in preparation for our Seafood Fest event on the 11th and 12th.  The event was fantastic again. Cold weather and the threat of rain kept things a bit quieter than usual on Friday night but beautiful weather and the lure of Boogie and the Yoyoz brought a huge crowd. A great time was had by all!! http://www.seafoodfest.us

The following week we heard from Richard Entenmann about his work with Asset Builders and the upcoming Money Conference here in the Fox Cities area. Richard spends much of his time helping the "Average Joe" learn how to budget, manage, and responsibly take care of their finances. It is certainly a worthwhile venture and the conference in Appleton this November is worth a visit. http://www.assetbuilders.org/15App_Flyer.pdf

Scott Hurley, Internet Producer/Reporter for WLUK Fox 11, spoke to our club about the exciting and challenging shifts in the news business. They have seen social media and internet based news increase their dominance in the news market. It was a great discussion and he got to show off a bit for his "Uncle Jim", one of our esteemed members. http://fox11online.com/archive/scott-hurley

Rounding out the month today, we have Jean Long-Manteufel speaking to us about how her company can assist in the transition of moving our aging parents from their home to somewhere they can be safe and thrive. She is the CEO of A1 Moving and Storage and the Senior Move Manager for Long's Senior Transitions. With her and her company's help, we can help our parents through this difficult time and make it a positive and memorable experience. http://www.longmoving.com/seniortransitions.htm
