Wecome Rotarians and visitors to the Menasha Rotary Club website. I am glad you found us and hope you continue to follow us on our dynamic and ever-changing site.

I first heard our 2011 Rotary International President, Kalyan Banerjee, speak while attending the President-Elect Training Seminar. He announced the theme for 2011 - "Reach Within, To Embrace Humanity". Although I am a relatively new Rotarian, I immediately could see how these few words truly express what a Rotarian, and others, must do to make our world a better place.

Rotary is the largest service organization in the world with more than 1.2 million members in over 200 countries. Our current global focus is to eradicate the world of Polio. This fight has been ongoing for years and will continue until it is gone. When Rotary took up this cause there were hundreds of thousands of new Polio cases annually. Now that number is in the hundreds. Rotarians have donated money to this cause as individuals and as clubs through fundraising efforts. Some have traveled across the globe to deliver and administer the vaccine. Through these efforts, as individuals, and as a Rotary community we are "Embracing Humanity".

As Rotarians we are also guided by 24 well-crafted words known as the 4-Way Test. You will see these words posted at Rotary meetings, in lobbies, and in many business offices. As our recent past-President always said "Words to live by". Of the things we say and do:

First - Is it the truth?

Second - Is it fair to all concerned?

Third - Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

Fourth - Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

By following these principles, we are able to make better decisions for our community, our businesses, our families, and our Rotary Clubs. This test allows us to reach within ourselves and pull out the best we have to offer and then use it to help others.

I have been fortunate during my career as a police officer to help others when they are in need. Rotary gives me the opportunity to do even more. I have met amazing people and enjoy their fellowship during our weekly meetings, social gatherings, and Rotary events. Being part of this great organization has really been life changing.

I encourage you to come to one of our meetings and check us out. We meet at Waverly Beach, N8770 Fire Lane 1 in Menasha every Wednesday at Noon. I hope to see you at one of our upcoming meetings!
